The water fountain with fountain lamp in Linghu Scenic Area was once hailed as “the largest water curtain movie in China” and will now be demolished. The total length of the fountain water curtain of this waterscape performance system is 380 meters, the width is about 100 meters, the maximum spray height is 128 meters, nearly 3,000 fountain nozzles, and 5,000 underwater lights. It was the largest water curtain movie system in China at that time.
The water curtain movie was once promoted as a tourist attraction. But on July 13, 2010, Anqing City was hit by an extraordinary flood that had not been seen in a century, which flooded the water curtain film system on the Dongda Lake.
Later, in order to take advantage of the storage function of Dongda Lake, the water level was lowered from 10.5 meters to 9.5 meters, causing the exposed water curtain film system cables and wires to partially burst due to exposure to the sun.
